These are the all-time most retweeted tweets from India

Twitter India has revealed a list of the most retweeted tweets from India, which includes Narendra Modi's victory tweet for the Lok Sabha election results 2014 and Rajnikanth's debut tweet on the social network.

It has created a custom timeline of tweets with the top retweeted tweet at the top. Not surprisingly, Narendra Modi's victory tweet from earlier today leads the list with over 54,000 retweets. The tweet has also been favorited over 33,000 times, again making it the top tweet in this category.

Next on the list is Salman Khan's (@BeingSalmanKhan) tweet saying "Hey @dimitrivegas & @likemike what cool work u guys are doing for ur fans http://t.co/4xfzHNZMLH " which has fetched close to 49,000 retweets.

Cricket's sensation Sachin Tendulkar's (@sachin_rt) tweet in response to his fans' thank you messages has been listed as the third most retweeted tweet. He had tweeted "I am really touched with #ThankYouSachin messages. Your support all these years have inspired me to give my best."

Rajinikanth (@superstarrajini) first tweet, after recently joining the social network, is placed fourth. His first tweet said, "Salutation to the Lord. Vaakkam aaivarukkum !! A big thank you to all my fans. Excited on this digital journey http://t.co/79ea6MrDe3. It has been favorited by over 19,000 users and retweeted over 17,000 times.

The fifth most famous tweet has come from Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who had tweeted joking that it was a good decision for him to take up wicket keeping instead of bowling, after watching Gayle's relentless onslaught in a T20 match. Chris Gayle had made a breathtaking world record score of 175 off 66 balls. Dhoni (@msdhoni) tweeted, "Life is all about taking the right decision, seeing Gayle bat today I think I took the right decision of being a wicket keeper."

Modi's tweet has surpassed Sachin Tendulkar's thank you tweet and megastar Rajnikanth's very first tweet, which have been listed among the top retweeted tweets in India.

Narendra Modi had posted this tweet to acknowledge BJP's victory in Lok Sabha Elections 2014. BJP is leading on 336 seats whereas the Congress has come down to merely 59 seats. BJP has become the only party to have won with such a majority since 1977 elections.
