😳😆 So, did not have time to make a Dhamaka today. But, I hope this topic makes up for it. We have seen actresses lie about their age in Bollywood. Kangana, Kitty Kat, etc. The actors don't lie. 🤓 Do these actresses just do it to have a longer shelf life? We all know they need to start out young and before 30 is when they should make it big! I admire Peecee and Aish, Miss Worlds who did not lie about their age. Please share your thoughts. Is it UNETHICAL to hide your age in BOLLYWOOD?!! 😛

I really don't understand why one has to hide their age.

Age is just a number if you think in that mindset and everyone ages by the year. If it matters so much to you, then just think that age is just a number.

When women get paid more, they get signed before the hero, they don't have to be the hero's choice, and they literally get the same liberties such as romancing younger men, longer shelve life, and more meaty/creative roles post-marraige/30s then I want to be upfront about their wrinkles and age. However, there's a huge glass ceiling for actresses and honestly see no harm if they do conceal their age for good work. It's getting better but in some ways BW is still very regressive.

Agreed. And there has been a change in BW and the audience's mindset. But ppl like Urmila and Juhi had to start playing supporting roles as sisters in films b/c of their AGE. I think women nowadays lie about it b/c it's been hard to sustain themselves. Like I said, it's changing but that mindset is still there due to this long legacy of short heroine shlef-life.

I think if people reveal they are in their 30's, it is a minus. The perfect example is Vidya Balan. She started in Bollywood so late, close to 30. But, she became a award-winning actress, got married, and will probably have babies in a few years. I think it matters what performances you give and the movies that leave a long lasting impression. Let your work speak for itself. 😊

Look at Aish, she got to demand powerful scripts at a young age! Peaking at Devdas in 2002 was the ultimate high for her as an actress. Then, doing Chokher Bali the year after! Who does a Bengali film after their career defining film? 😉😊 And then she did Jodhaa Akbar and Sarkar Raaj after marriage. Her career path is the most interesting out of her contemporaries. And then look what happened to Rani and Preity! They faded out. Aish benefitted from her unusual movie selections and age did not matter to her. She debuted in early 1997 and went all the way to late 2010. That is nearly 14 years! ⭐️

THANK YOU THANK YOU!
I have no problem with actresses hiding their age. When the men in Bollywood and the audience learn to treat these women better maybe they won't feel the need to hide their age.
