Omg! I loved it!

I have zero expectations from this movie but I saw the trailer and found their pairing quite fresh and comforting..
That said, film was beyond my expectations. It was so simple, so real and so unassuming that I was drawn into it. This is my best film experience this year after queen and I think I liked it more than Queen. It has so many moments that would just tug your heart and you realize that you are getting emotional and investing in these characters. (Why didn't you guys tell me that I have to carry lots of tissue with me?) I ran from the theatre after the movie because I cried so much in various scenes. I felt like most of the couples who are in love will connect with this story and that's why it felt like it hit home with me...

Now, coming to the performances, I know everyone liked Alia in it but I find Arjun Kapoor so goooddd in this movie. I like the restraint, the small nuances, the inner turmoil displayed beautifully by him. He may not be the conventional chocolate boy but he knows the A of romance. He was so bloody good. He was the perfect Krish for me. Alia has impressed me so much. I think the girl will go places because the amount of growth she has shown in three movies is amazing. She was spunky, mature and independent and she showed it beautifully. Some of the beginning scenes of hers reminded me of Kareena. That said, in some places, I felt like she is containing her smile or she might burst out giggling. Hats off to the costume designer because she has never looked that good. Ronit Roy has played this character so many times but every time his performance rocks. I didn't quite enjoy Amrita's performance neither the Alia's dad. Revathy was quite natural.
Songs were nicely played and I am so upset that Mast Magan was cut off in the middle. Direction was nice but the main drawback was the editing. Whoever was on the cutting table did a very choppy job. At the end, I would give 9/10 for this movie. It's been a long time since I enjoyed a love story. Yay!!

2 States Is Rock Steady On Tuesday
Wednesday 23 April 2014 11.30 IST
Box Office India Trade Network
2 States was rock steady on Tuesday as it grossed around 5.25-5.50 crore nett which is just 10% lower than Monday. The total so far is around 48.25 crore nett and the film should get a boost on Thursday due to elections in many states of India which can take it close to the 60 crore nett mark for the week.

It may now emerge the second highest first week of the year after Jai Ho. The figures could be better than Gunday for the week despite it being lower over the weekend.

The business of the film in Mumbai is almost double of Delhi/UP which is rare for this type of multiplex film. The approx daily collections of the film are as follows.

Friday - 12,00,00,000

Saturday - 11,70,00,000

Sunday - 13,30,00,000

Monday - 5,85,00,000

Tuesday - 5,35,00,000

TOTAL - 48,20,00,000

2 states: It wasn't a bad movie but the last 15-20 mins were sooo slowww 🤢 and Alia is jusstt gaahh I can never like her.. Amrita, Ronit and Arjun were pretty good.. I loved Krish's character and disliked Ananya's she was way too dominating and for what reason? she did not deserve Krish to be honest.. No wonder I couldn't read the book past two pages.. I would have pulled my hair out hating on Ananya if I ever managed to read it..😆 so all in all a very very average movie and an average cliche story.. 2.5/5

PS: why was this book such a famous read? I fail to understand..there's nothing new 😕
