A little birdie tells us that Shoojit Sircar is keen to rope in Sonam Kapoor in his next film titled Piku. Though there were reports that Deepika Padukone will be playing the female lead in the film, Sonam is being considered to play the female protagonist. The film also stars Amitabh Bachchan and Irrfan Khan.

If Sonam bags this film, the actor will have quite a few films in her kitty. The Bewakoofiyaan actor is a part of the remake of Khoobsurat and not so long time ago, she was signed in to play the female lead opposite Salman Khan in Sooraj Barjatya's next. She's also a part of Arbaaz Khan Productions' Dolly Ki Doli. So here's the interesting part.

Deepika was the forerunner for both Piku and Sooraj Barjatya's next. However, the filmmakers roped in Ms Kapoor instead. And as far as Dolly Ki Doli is concerned, Katrina Kaif was the first choice for the film. But finally, SK bagged the film. We wonder what is so special about Sonam Kapoor that filmmakers prefer her over the top divas of B-town.😆

We have seen how the entire world has become so competitive. Everyone wants to be better than each other. And the same thing is seen in our very own B-town as well. Here we bring you a tale of two new competitive heroines of Bollywood - Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor.

The competition between these two beauties started right from their first film. Their debut films Om Shanti Om and Saawariya were released on the same day. Now don't we all know that in a competition, one has to win while other has to lose? While Deepika hit the jackpot with her debut film, Sonam couldn't create a strong impression on the masses with her debut film. But then she went on to become the ultimate style diva of Bollywood. Then she came back into the competition and proved her prowess with films like Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and Raanjhanaa.

Now, it looks like the competition between these two ladies has not come to an end yet. We have heard that Sonam was the first choice for Homi Adajania's Finding Fanny Fernandes? But after she said no, her competitor Deepika was replaced her in the film.

A secret birdie has been snooping around a lot and he tells us that Deepika Padukone wasn't the first choice for Homi Adjania's Finding Fanny Fernandes. Wondering who the film was first offered to? Well, Sonam Kapoor was the first choice for the film. What more, even Arjun Kapoor wasn't the first choice for the male lead and the role was first offered to Sonam Kapoor's I Hate Luv Storys' co-star Imran Khan. The blatant birdie adds that Sonam and Imran weren't happy with the roles and so didn't sign the dotted line. Apparently, the Kapoor lass thought that the role wasn't interesting and the Khan lad felt that there was no scope to perform (like really!).

Well, with Sonam backing out, Deepika was a good replacement. Especially coz she had expressed her wish to be a part of the film, when Adjania had narrated the script to her during the filming of Cocktail. So now, let's wait and watch if Homi Adjania's Finding Fanny Fernandes actually lacks a good role or is the film actually good.
