Mumbai: They flocked in hundreds to the venue, waited for hours with relentless enthusiasm and excitement to see their star Shah Rukh Khan and finally got a present from him in the form of a special song of his upcoming film "Fan".

The 50-year-old actor launched the film's anthem "Jabra Fan" at Hansraj College of Delhi University, from where he did his graduation.

"I am lucky that the college authorities have given me permission to come here and launch one of my favourite songs... It's a special moment for me to come back to my college after so many years," Shah Rukh said after launching the anthem.

The song has been completely shot in the capital. Film's director Maneesh Sharma, also a Hansraj alumni, said it is just a promotional track.

"It won't be a part of the film. It is just a promotional song. We are having the premiere here in our college."

Students from various colleges started gathering at the venue from around 11 am. It looked like a scene taken from the first teaser of the movie, as not only the college ground, but also the roads of North Campus were clogged by fans waiting to get a glimpse of their hero.

A large number of police officials and bouncers were on duty to manage the crowd and avoid any unruly circumstances.

The superstar was scheduled to arrive at 4.30 pm and just an hour before he reached, a few students fainted due to overcrowding.

Before officially launching the track, Shah Rukh greeted his fans with his signature pose and also talked about his graduation days.

The college presented the "Dilwale" actor with a calendar made by its students.

"Fan" features Shah Rukh in double avatars, one as a superstar and the other his young lookalike admirer, Gaurav.

The peppy number, composed by music duo Vishal-Shekhar, introduces Gaurav, and shows him dancing in front of locations like Red Fort, hopping on-and-off from DTC bus and singing Mai tera hai re tera, jabra fan hogaya'.

The much-awaited Yash Raj film is due to hit theatres on April 15.

Finally the first song of SRK's Fan is out

So Shah Rukh Khan has started with the promotions of his next release - Fan. The actor went to his college in Delhi to launch the highly anticipated fan anthem, which is finally out. And it is nothing short of spectacular! Shah Rukh is at his creative best as he dances with crazy energy in the song Jabra fan. While the whole song is awesome, there are five moments which really stand out and are downright laudable for the effort. Let's have a look at these moments...

So, can you really believe that thin boyish looking person is really Shah Rukh? Neither can we! This moment is really special because we get to see the actor's actual face in detail on the hoarding and can compare it with SRK standing right next to it. But frankly, he looks nowhere like himself!

This picture is a totally adorable and relatable moment for all SRKians. King Khan has so much craze that they can go to any lengths to convey their love and devotion towards the actor.

The moment in the market with the kites is one of the best because it reveals the name of the star character in the movie, Aryan Khanna. So SRK is a fan of superstar Aryan Khanna in Fan!

This moment takes attention to detail to a whole new level. If look closely at the names of the firecrackers in the front, you will find that it has name of Aryan Khanna once again and even an AK written on one of boxes. Salute to the Fan team for being so immaculate.

The last and final best moment shows the pride of the capital and pride of Shah Rukh Khan too. While the Red Fort is clearly visible in all it's glory in the background, there is also a picture of SRK in his Kuch Kuch Hota Hai avatar with his trademark GAP pullover. The movie was one of the best movies in King Khan's life.
