He is not as great as he is made out to be. Ever since he has arrived he as been treated like the heir to the throne. The Nepotism friendly bollywood has latched on to him as the future. He has made some good choices of course and he is a decent actor but I dont see him any more brilliant than Arjun or Ranveer for that matter. Others like Randeep Hooda are far ahead but las they lack the star power and backing of the industry.
Abhishek was also treated like the heir to throne even after 13 continuous flops...he was offered big projects in a platter even then he cudnt create any impact..HR was touted to be next superstar who can wipe of 3 Khans completely after his smashing debut in KNPH...Ranbir wasnt extended any more lenience and support than the other 2 in question...infact he got a great amount of bad press, thanks to him being not so discreet about his colourful personal life..He managed to break through with his own hardwork, intelligence and talent...Ranbir is the flagholder of new generation...If Ranbir Kapoor wasnt a success story industry wud never have opened gates to young talents like Ranveer,Sushant etc..Consecutive to Ranbir's success, there have been a huge wave of young aspiring actors in BW...Ofcourse many fell off the train like Imran Khan,Prateik but we got gems like Ranveer Singh...Audience became more acceptive of refreshing new concepts thanks to verstality shown by new age actors...They welcomed new pairings like RK-DP,RS-DP and placed YJHD,RL in the 100 crore club right next to Khan movies...Ranbir's managed to break the myth for a movie to earn 100 crore it has to be a masala potbolier or south remake through Barfi...Seeing how well received RK's movies were at B.O more directors and producers came forward to experiment with less popular bold themes...they were ready to invest in new talents and realised there is more to BW than Khans...Not saying its all cuz of Ranbir, but he was defintely part of that mission that brought in a huge change and hence he is hailed and hyped so much by Industry ppl...Not just cuz he is a star kid...even contemporaries like Ranveer,Sush,Sid,Anu,Pari etc have great respect for Ranbir as a performer/star not just his parents, relatives and their pals
Acting is subjective,...I do believe Ranveer is a superb talent but he has not reached RK's level as of yet...He might in future after attempting varied roles and exploring more genres...Arjun I dont consider him a natural at all...He is nt spontaneous or effortless like Ranbir...IMO he is only 50% of actor RK is...Again that solely my perception, which wud differ from ur view...Bottom line its all based on one's preference...whats trash to one, will be treasure to another...Hence rankings based on acting wont ever be according to certain parameters...Its possible many industry ppl genuinely find Ranbir most talented and encourage him and not cuz of nepotism
