I don't think he's dying to work with Deepika or anything. He said he suggested Alia for WS and Katrina was first approached for YJHD. At the end of the day, it's directors decision.

Deepika has not moved on...likes to portray herself as victim then what about this which was posted in IF.

A little birdie close to Ranbir Kapoor can't stop regaling people with stories about how Deepika Padukone is still not over him and keeps texting him. Hard to believe no? She seems more than happy with Ranveer Singh. Just because she is not ready to talk about her Ram, doesn't mean this Leela is hankering after her ex!

The above then also applies for DP. Plus Kat was not approached 1st for YJHD i have seen an interview of Ayan where he says he wrote the role of Naina for DP for example this interview

there's been enough hue and cry about you casting both Deepika and Ranbir together. Did the thought occur to you while casting them that are after all, ex-flames?

I hate to agree but I did think about them being ex-couples but none of that was on our mind during the casting process. I roped them in because they were right for the film and there was no other reason. With Ranbir something special is happening with my career so far. We have developed a deep friendship. Subconsciously I am writing specifically keeping him in mind. I am grateful that he has agreed to be part of my films. He is the best actor. Deepika, on the other hand, was part of my thought process when I first wrote the world of the film. I took my time as I wanted to be 100 per cent sure that Deepika was it. But as the writing progressed I felt that she was the right person. I am happy she agreed to do the film.

How is this the same? Any quote from Ranbir? Must be journalist imagination for all we know. When Ranbir moans about DP sexting Farhan and hooking up with him, we'll call it even. But am sure he won't do that and I respect him for that.

Doesn't matter what Ayan wanted when he wrote the script. KJO is the boss and he basically confirmed Kat rejected the film during that session with Sallu. Kjo also said he ws gratfeul to DP for accepting the part after that.

Edit: Also DP was delivering a lot of flops before Cocktail so its perfectly logical that Kjo approached Kat first. He's very business minded as Kareena found out.
