But I'm so happy for Lupita. Her speech was beautiful and you can tell b/c Benedict Cumberbatch was moved to tears.

Jared Leto--well deserved and amazing speech.

And I'm so happy Cate won and I loved her empowering speech, especially the part where she acknowledges that female-centric films do make money. I hope the studio heads take notice the next time they doubt the power of Sandra Bullock.

Alfonso's speech was brilliant and I feel like 12 Years a Slave was beautiful and iconic but Gravity deserved Best Picture. I'll never understand how Best Director and Best Picture goes to 2 different ppl. But I guess it was a good year in cinema so they probably wanted to "spread" it out.

Best part of the Oscars: Ellen and her pizza party and group selfie. I wish BW hosts can realize that you can make things fun without poking fun at others. Humor can be found in things other than jabs.

TOO true Hetal! I love how you've summed it all up so succinctly! 😃

I really liked Blanchett's speech too & esp the part about female centric movies but I think after Bullock's Oscar for Blind Side Hwood really has woken up to Female Power. 👏

I was happy for Blanchett's win but I wanted Amy Adams to win!! She was beyond awesome in American Hustle! You could see how very disappointed she was.

When will India do the same?! I GUESS NEVER. 😡

Leo was brilliant in Wolf Of Wall Street but NOPE. Watch in a few years. He's going to win in the biggest way possible I feel!

P.S. Julianne Moore, Leo , Amy Adams & Jessica Chastain!

Btw Leo isn't under-rated from any stretch of the imagination now that I come to think of it... Which is why his consistent defeat at the Oscars BAFFLES ME & EVERYONE ELSE. 😡

P.P.S HOW DISHY did Cumberbatch look?

About Ellen though- WORD! That's why she's one of my faves. I watch her show often and she's just so hilarious, without even having to insult anyone. OMG that group selfie was fantastic! Jared just literally came out of nowhere to be in it!

Yeah he did. Along with all the ones nominated. But people are always going to have favorites. And I think Matthew is a sweetheart and his "hero" speech was novel and inspiring, but fans are bias. We'll moan till the end up time.😆 And another truth...Leo have shown more range in his whole career than maybe any other actor. And he's def been snubbed a lot more than any day actor so there's always going to be this bitterness and deep deserve for his victory among his fans. But this is why I shall and will always admire and adore and love him. B/c he's always humble.

@Mallika: On the Sandy thing. HW really hadn't. Did you know The Heat was originally supposed to have A-list male actor opposite Sandy b/c studio executives felt Melissa and Sandy wouldn't be able to bring in the big bucks, even though both have starred in female-centric films and brought in the profits. The scriptwriter had to fight for them to keep the original storyline. And the same thing happened with Gravity. Clooney was never suppose to have the meaty role that he did. The soul of the movie was Sandy and I'm glad so many people thanked Sandy and Alfonso even mentioned that. Clooney was supposed to be a supporting character but his part increased b/c they felt Sandra--a woman, wouldn't be able to sell such a expensive project on her own. Which is utter ridiculousness b/c most of her rom-coms worked b/c of HER. Someone actually did Sandy B vs Clooney profits break down back when this news broke and apparently ever dollar spent producing a Sandy movie got the studio back more than twice back then George (4.17 vs 2.07 per ever dollar spent). And Sandy's per-film average is higher than Clooney's. But you see they're a buch asses that think women can't sell movies. And Kudos to Cate for saying that. Cuz I know she and her other colleagues have experienced that too.

@Fire aka Tani right babe?! It's been a long time so I wanna get it right. 😆 I love Ellen. I can't believe she made that Harvey Weinstein joke...see she did to a personal joke but it wasn't mean, brutual or attacking him. She's the best. I'm glad she engaged with the audience b/c that's what she does best. And collecting money from people in Williams' hat. 🤣
