Bhansali, who recently signed Deepika as 'Mastani', is considering Hrithik Roshanfor the role of 'Bajirao'.

Since the 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam' days, Bhansali had plans to make his dream project "Bajirao Mastani", he even faced many hurdles and the biggest one was to cast his favourite pair Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan for the roles.

But the Salman and Aishwarya tiff led to the film getting shelved.

Bhansali even tried getting both the exes together, as he only wanted to cast Salman and Aishwarya as the lead pair, but things didn't work out.

There were even rumours that Bhansali is planning to cast Kareena Kapoor's cousin Shivani Kapoor opposite Salman for the role. But then the 'Black' director decided not to do the film at all without Salman and Aishwarya.

Now, Bhansali has realised that it is impossible to cast his ultimate pair Salman and Aishwarya for "Bajirao Mastani" and that is why he has planned to revive the project with Deepika and Hrithik as the lead.

Where Deepika has apparently signed "Bajirao Mastani", there are reports that the filmmaker is considering superhero Hrithik to play the role of 'Bajirao'.

"Bajirao Mastani" is based on the love story of the Maratha general Peshwa Bajirao and his Muslim-origin wife Mastani, who faced the wrath of the society on their inter-religion marriage, which is said to have led to a crisis within the royal family.

Well, let's hope Hrithik, who is going through a not-too-pleasant phase in his personal life, says yes to the project.
