Yeah he can act. He has many great hits to his name (acting wise). But he has a problem with hamming it up. Sometimes he goes OTT in his roles.

as u said, in swades he acted really good.. but devdas, omg that hamming of his ... thank god i am over wid SRK, no more a big pankha of the loverboy he is onscreen ..

Then VZ, CDI, MNIK, Swades, KHNH.

Though I love him everywhere, in any movie...but yet...acting wise his best performances is CDI, MNIK,Baazigar, Dar.

Also the way he romances, is beyond anything...his acting in songs like Suraj hua maddham...or in emotional scenes..like in k3g when he meets with jaya, or in khnh bridge scene...or in veer zara...he is simply outstanding.

And then there is something wonderful when he plays negative roles...especially recently DON.. his performance is highly underrated there for sure.
