It all depends on movie script, promos. New York and mere brother ki Dulhan were good movies and had good promos hence they were hit. Imran give hits with genelia and Sonam too. These two actresses were not big stars but the movies were hit because of the story and they had good promos

Katrina contribute in pulling crowd but if the movie is crap like gori tere pyaar mein then it will be a failure with even katrina or any other actress.

Katrina could have made gori tere pyaar msin hit . Just replace kareena with katrina in that movie n you would find that movie more appealing . All the songs were good. Even I feel bewakoofiya would had looked more appealing if katrina was in it. I am not telling kareena n sonam cant do such movies . Sonam is more apt for serious cinema like raanjhnaa , and kareena is more apt for natural charecters like geet in jwm or 3 idiots, she just have to be herself n audience love it . Romcom works for katrina. Just like mere brother ki dulhan or ajab prem . Even phata poster nikla hero would have worked if katrina was in it . Audience pay just to see her sizzlibg dance numbers n the ball of positive energy she brings onscreen in romcoms.

Talking about openings then I will agree. She is a crowd puller but of the movie is bad not evem srk can save it(Ra.one). Look at besharam. It had a big opening coz of ranbir and when people found out how bad it actually was it tanked badly

Saif has given hits before Deepika. In fact, Cocktail was a much needed hit for her than Saif after a string of flops.

I dont agree with you. Gori tere pyaar mein had a crap script and I dont think any actor or actress could give a blockbuster with crap story. Kareena is a big actress too but she couldnt make the movie hit.

I hate luv story was rom com. It was a hit as story was interesting and at that time sonam imran were new comer

I have not seen gtpm . But people who have seen it say thst it was decent movie on twitter and were surprised why it dint make it , even reviews were not back . So I will stick to my opinion. Romcoms work for katrina.

You can stick with your view I am just saying what i think. i watched that movie and it was worst karan movie. The movie had so much glitches. More than half of the things didnt even made sense. Imran was so much better in Jane tu ya Jane na, mere brother ki Dulhan and I hate luv stories, as his acting sucked in gori tere pyaar mein

Katrina does help pulling crowds but no actor or actress can make a Crap movie hit, even khans couldn't do that! All movie have good and bad parts but gtpm was one more which hardly had nothing good except Kareena. Kareena is a good actress but even her acting couldn't save that movie, I really don't think any actress could had made that movie hit.

Sadly Kareena luck is not in a her favor from past one year or so, as heroine, gtpm sucked but still that doesn't make her any less than current heroines, she has star power and that's the reason that she didnt faded yet because sadly her movies had been dissapointing for quite some time, but I hope she come back with a bang with singham 2 and Bombay surmai

katrina gave hits with john and imran. she does not have any flop in her career after yuvraaj what katrina holds is a record unbeaten by any actress. just look into BOI facts in the official website.

She does have the strongest boxoffice pull but I wouldn't say she's the only one who can give a hit with Imran ect..just look at Pari, all her films except HTP were with newcomers and did well. Only HTP opened with low numbers. Sonam gave a hit with Imran in IHLS.

I tried to watch GTPM yesterday and what a bore of a film. Some of the scenes don't even make sense. So I highly doubt Katrina would have made it a hit. Katrjna would probably reject this film anyways, because her script sense is much much better than Kareena's.

Boxoffice pull only works if the film's content is good and the audience are interested in the film. Let alone Kat even Salman, Srk, and Amir films don't do as well as expected if the audience aren't interested eg Jai Ho, Ra.One and Talaash. These films were hits but not up to the Khans level..they usually give super hits and blockbusters. At the end of the day, not the Star's boxoffice pull but the film's content matters the most. The promos, trailers, and songs also matter more than the stars in the film.
