Karan does not think well of Ranveer. Look at IGT. When Ranveer went to do beat box with the contestant look at Karan's face and when he actually didn't make a fool of himself, Karan could say nothing.

Ranveer won't follow any of Karan's instructions.

Bare in mind that the budget being quoted also has hrithik and kareenas fees in it as well. Also I am sure they wud make changes to the budget with a new cast.
