I think KKK is a victim of poorly chosen words here. I don't think she is trying to say all modern parents don't have kids or something like that.

Unlike back in the day, modern couples have more freedom of choice. Many couples are indeed choosing to postpone children and some even choose not to have any. It is very unlike older times where having a child within a few years was almost mandatory. I think she was trying to say that her and Saif are exercising this freedom they can enjoy.

Also, women also have the freedom and choice to give full attention to career interests or other personal interests. They don't want to be seen as homemakers or baby makers. It becomes extremely irritating when married women are asked only about marital life and family. They have an identity beyond being just a wife or a mom. They want to continue to be treated as whole individuals and be asked about their work, interests and more rounded questions. So I think KKK is also a bit frustrated with journalists who keep asking about children, when she's made it clear several times she doesn't want any at this time.

On the other hand, to imply that modern couples do not have kids or something is ridiculous. The choice to have children is personal and has nothing to do with being modern or not. Although I think she was trying to say that in the old days, married couples did not even have a choice- it was the default choice to have kids. Now, you can choose not to have kids if you want.

Bebo just needs to choose her words more wisely.
