Well he knows that Salman is known to be who he is, while aamir is expected to be in character mode

My point is audiences have certain expectations outta stars..abd it may be a sterotype but thst is just what it is..and an actor realizing that is important!!

Salman is an entertainer a mass hero..he appeals to the aam jaanta..thus its latest is targeted to that but this time with a message!!
