Shahrukh Khan to buy Essel Studios in Trombay

Shahrukh Khan is spreading his wings. He has not restricted his potential to acting only, he owns his own production company, he is the owner of IPL team, Kolkata Knight Riders and now King Khan is on the way to finalize deal with Essel Studios in Trombay. He is keen to buy Essel Studios in Trombay.

There are two more buyers interested to buy the company but Shahrukh Khan might finally end up owning the studio.

Says a source, "It will take time for the deal to be struck as initial talks are on. Shah Rukh has evinced an interest in it, but it will take around six to seven months to strike the deal. There are two other parties who are interested, but I think Shah Rukh will most probably get the deal."

However, a source informed that nothing has been finalized at the moment and once the deal is locked, the owner of the studio will make the announcement. "King Khan apparently wants to renovate and revamp it and the studio is likely to be renamed," they add.

According to an insider, SRK was also interested to buy Mehboob Studios in Bandra but the deal didn't work out. Mehboob studios is close to SRK's residence, Mannat.

After the success of Chennai Express', Shahrukh Khan is working on Farah Khan's directional venture, Happy New Year' with Abhishek Bachchan, Boman Irani and Deepika Padukone.
