I think one of the biggest reasons why the Kapoors would have agreed for Katrina must be her willingnes to give up her career, post-marriage.

For all her success and fame, I have never found Katrina to be overtly ambitious...she will probably happily and blissfully slip into domesticity...exactly what the K-Khaandan is looking for!

Btw, I agree with Subha...Shammi and Shashi are both classy men...Shashi, especially I admire, because he never married or got involved with any woman after his wife's death...and he wasn't even that old back then...its so tragically romantic.

Ranbir goes around telling people how Katrina is cold in bed or that how DP texts him...even if these are true...such things are better left unspoken. On the other hand there is his cousin Kareena who is more interested in the films she has rejected rather than films she has done. Will you ever catch SRK speaking about 3I or Munnabhai or Talaash...all the films he has rejected? Or does Salman talk about Chak De India? These Kapoors should first all display some class atleast in public.
