Soon after Shekhar Kapur praised Deepika Padukone for her performance in Goliyon ki Rasleela- Ram-Leela, speculations were rife that the filmmaker might approach her to play the lead in Paani. When contacted, Kapur said, "We are in negotiations with a young and well-known Hollywood actress, who will be cast opposite Sushant. So it is not Deepika who will be seen opposite him in the film." The film goes on floor by mid-2014. Oscar winning musician A.R. Rehman has been roped in to compose the music for the film.

of course, Shekhar would go to HW for his actress. Typical.

@HZAnita: It can't be Freida Pinto. He wants a foreigner for the role. In fact there will be more actors from the west also in the cast, from what we know till now.

@JodhaBai: In this case its the demand of the script actually. That was the way he wrote the story. And I for one, am happy that he didn't change the script suddenly just so that he could justify taking a top actress like Deepika.

aww dont worry we r not like u guys who used to bash ranveer bcoz of his looks n said ur devi deserves better. So before pointing fingers at our fam group firstly look at urself ok! Lol when that fuglyy ranveer worked with ur miss skin lightening u guys also changed ur views. So ur hypocirsy is well known!

I knew it all along fitoor pani and window seat are going on floor same time . How can katrina or deepika do other project when there dates are completely locked. And anyways pani always wanted a Hollywood actress. Katrina could have fit the bill coz of her accent but its makers call.
