I didn't want to bring her in the topic but it needs to be shown how hypocritical some people are🤪

It takes guts for a man to show publicly that he likes a woman when there is a chance that the woman might not be as much interested in you as you are...👏

Giving woman respect - how many times have we seen a listen actor open door for a woman???? Or even his girlfriend????? NONE...

So I REALLY proud of Ranveer and I hope he doesn't change...

@ bold: are you for real? Ranveer isn't the first to have done this, trust me. 😆 I don't think an actor opening the darn door for his gf or wife is something worthy of making headlines.

Not so sure staratruckk...I feel chivalry is dead :( unfortunately. I really want to believe you...but I think chivalry is a lost art.

That isn't really a kiss at all by the way. You don't have to be in a relationship to give a peck on the cheek like that.

From my experience as a junior reporter- a stint I did for three years and hated, and as a friend to a group of journalists, I do know certain things about the Industry, I would like to believe. And trust me when I say that actors are the biggest douches around. They only talk about political correctness, but achieve very little in reality. A guy, opening the "darn door" for his friend/girlfriend is a big deal in Bollywood. I rarely see anyone do this, because Indian men think they are god's gift to women, and industry men are only worse by extension.

I don't think many of you are understanding my point here.
Just because someone opens the door for you, doesn't mean you're extra special and in this case necessarily the guy's girlfriend or wife..or does it? I'm sure with the kind of guy Ranveer seems to be..he may even open the door for a female fan.

Someone like SRK for example is supposedly known to respect all of his female coactors tremendously..now every time he does that, are we supposed to expect all of that to make headlines and in return assume hmm maybe SRK is in a relationship with that female actress and thus took a step further to open the "darn door" for her? I think we're thinking way too much into all of these specifics and touting them as if X does this then that's because X is in a relationship with Y and how exemplary is that! My point is, some guys really are just well mannered and yes others are not..but I don't think this warrants news headlines or an OMG response. It's like when a guy you know does that for you, do you guys really extrapolate so much out of it like the way we are here?

I am maybe more cynical because I see the way women are abused and emotionally tortures on a daily basis. I cannot help it. And I naturally appreciate a guy when he does something nice for a woman. Yes, women empowerment is distant and nearly impossible dream in India. I hope you wouldn't be bored, but I went to Purulia last week for a project on Naachni practice of bengal, and excuse me if my faith is totally shaken in mankind right now.

And yes, a guy being chivalrous is a wondrous sight to see in India. I have always believed how women naturally deserve it and no guy should be appreciated for actually being good to a woman, because that is how one should be. I agree with that still, but working in fields has given me a more cynical view to life. And I have realized that a good man is rare in India. I see too many men burning their wives, impregnating women and leaving them to die on a daily basis. Which opened my eyes to appreciate the inherent kindness in a man or a woman. Sorry for a big rant, but this topic affects me still.

Edit - @ Starstruck, oh, absolutely not. None of us really think that there is anything going on between them at all. They are just good friends. And we are shipping DeepYanka. 😆 And Ranveer is a kind guy, he would have done the same for anyone.

Starstruckk.. I do get what you are trying to say. We are just veering a bit off topic and saying such guys are far and few and even if a friend opens the door for me...I actuallu gasp because its that rare.
Totally agree with you star girl. Just back from comforting an educated young woman who was physically abused by her equally educated Indian husband. Huh!!!
