Sometimes the biggest stars are the most grounded and the wannabes make the most outrageous demands from their producers. Manisha Koirala was notorious for being uncooperative during shoots, something she herself admitted to after turning producer. Kareena Kapoor made as much news for her temper tantrums as her brash sound bytes.

An organizer of international film concerts has said that film stars are toughest to handle when abroad for shows. They expect the moon and can turn real nasty if their expectations are not met. One heroine's mother demanded the organizer arrange a particular brand of sanitary towels for her daughter, or else, she threatened, her "beti" wouldn't perform.

Star tantrums aren't peculiar to the "brat pack". Decades earlier Gulzar replaced Rekha with Sharmilla because he couldn't handle the diva's tantrums. Rajesh Khanna was known to drive his directors up the wall with his starry airs.
