I think it's just the dress which is making her look a bit chubbier. She looked normal in the premier pics.

I have a feeling he is SO vulnerable from the inside. I've come to the conclusion that I've begun to love Ranveer's personality while following Ramleela. He's such a sweet heart!

I am so going to miss this thread...especially the last two months of anticipation for the film...and how this thread was always kept positive and cheerful, even though almost the entire forum was running down RL!

Kahaan gaye woh sab?😡😆

So many thread starting with 'RL will be a damp squib'...'RL will end Ranveer's career'...'RL will end Deepika's year with flop...' 'RL will finish SLB'...blah, blah!

The film has proved all of them wrong...by not just getting overwhelmingly positive reviews, but also starting out so well at the BO!

I am crossing my fingers for the film to touch 100 Crores very soon! And then, maybe, we guys can have a celebration thread!😃

PS: I won't be at all surprised if someone signs Deepika and Ranveer for a film! Someone would have enough brains to cash on their sizzling chemistry and the fact that they have clicked so beautifully with the general public, both individually and as a on-screen couple!

Hear hear poppy. This (and it's predecessors of course) was the single most enjoyable thread I've had the pleasure to participate in, in all my years on IF. Everyone was lovely and the conversation even better. Really gonna miss it.

Ram-leela hits jackpot, Deepika Padukone strikes hattrick

From playing nerdy Naina to South Indian Meenamma and now a Gujarati girl in "Ram-leela", the 27-year-old has proved her versatility with the three movies.

Deepika Padukone has scored a hattrick with the success of "Raam-leela" and the actress is receiving plaudits from all quarters.

Her first big hit of the year was "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani" and "Chennai Express" followed it. Now comes "Ram-leela".

The three back-to-back hits boast of variety.

From playing nerdy Naina to South Indian Meenamma and now a Gujarati girl in "Ram-leela", the 27-year-old has proved her versatility with the three movies.

Sarang Chandak of Shri Rang Films said that Deepika's performance was "outstanding".

"I believe the film will have a very impressive run at the ticket windows. Deepika not only looks stunning in the film, she has also delivered an outstanding performance," Chandak said.

Rajesh Thadani of Multimedia Combines feels that Deepika has contributed to the success of "Ram-leela" and added that the actress has emerged as a "sure-shot success at the box office this year".

In "Ram-leela" director Sanjay Leela Bhansali presented the fresh pair of Ranveer Singh and Deepika to narrate William Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet" in desi style with Gujarat as its backdrop.

Said Debashish Dey of Aum Moviez, West Bengal: "Thanks to Deepika and her success with her previous releases, the response to afternoon shows improved. Expectations are at an all-time high."

Deepika, daughter of veteran badminton player Prakash Padukone, made her Bollywood debut with Farah Khan-directed 2007 hit "Om Shanti Om", where she played Shah Rukh Khan's love interest.

She then appeared in films like "Bachna Ae Haseeno", "Chandni Chowk To China", "Love Aaj Kal", "Housefull", "Break Ke Baad", "Aarakshan" and "Desi Boyz", but it was only after her bold character portrayal of Veronica in "Cocktail" that the industry realised her hidden potential.

She will next be seen in "Finding Fanny" and "Happy New Year".

Have you seen the film? Haven't read your review so far.

The film has crossed 50 Crores during the weekend (official figures haven't come...but pretty sure, the film has done a 50 already...that means, its already in the safe zone)...quite certain it is going to have a good run this week and GTPM, unless it is some kind of a classic in the making, will have no serious repercussions on the business of RL!

So, 100 Crores lifetime business, is what I am expecting out of RL!😃

ranveer deserves as much praise as dips. hell even supriya was on par with dips.

all 3 deserve the applauds.

I'm hoping for 100 crores too and I think it's possible if the film doesn't crash heavily on week days. Judging from the still ecstatic response it's receiving in a lot of quarters, i don't think it will. Fingers crossed.

I posed my review in the reviews/updates thread, round about page 21 i think. Loved the film, as you can imagine. 😃

@Briahna, don't think there's any chance Ranveer gets sidelined in the aftermath. Deepika was wonderful and deserves praise, plus she's the bigger star and her box office record is on fire this year so of course most of the attention will gravitate towards her. But Anupama and Masand got it spot on imo, when they said Ranveer's the one that shines the brightest in the film. I've seen hundreds of comments from the general public on social media saying the same thing.

Ranveer's already a bigger star now than he was on Friday morning.😆 Couldn't be happening to a more worthy, deserving guy.

Ranveer is more than fine. Have a feeling yrf will dish out more money for him so he gets to work with better directors or maybe vikram from phantom production will get him something from them. He is already working with another production once he starts zoya's film and a cameo in finding fanny Fernandez with another house. The only place I don't want him to venture into is dharma production. He should stay away from the cheesy filmi love stories from that production house. Not that karan johar would cast him.

At the moment amongst the young lot, he is most closest to competing with Ranbir Kapoor despite being 3 yes junior to him and having only 4films. That is impressive.
