What's the connection with the hairstylist blind and this article? The hairstylist blind could be referring to someone else. This seems like stretching one's imagination and linking every damn rumour about a newcomer to Sushant.

And the theories about UTV planting this article to get back at Sushant for playing the"victim card"...seriously, why is every rumour that puts Sushant in bad light taken as gospel truth while those in favour are termed as a PR gimmick. Why not give benefit of doubt to all parties?

If a source supposedly from Sushant says that he has been politely elbowed out, it is taken as Sushant playing victim card. On the other hand, a source giving out news against him is taken as if nothing can be wrong about it and is as true as god's existence.

Well, I would not like to comment on certain threads which were apparently opened up by a "fan", but some of the comments made me realise that Sushant will never be able to cut ice with some here. While ARK's success is attributed to hardwork and struggle, Sushant's rise is termed as as "backdoor entry". Why not give credit to Sushant as well for making his way till here. He started as a second lead in TV serial and has worked hard to reach where he is.

About his PR...the over activeness of a fan to dig out all new and old articles about Sushant has definitely created the image that his PR is all out there. But I feel its the same as everyone elses. They just have different strategies. For example, Siddharth Malhotra's PR has been continuously building an image of him being the charming prince that all young girls will desire. The painter who makes it a point to go regularly to the gym.

I am a fan so I do not expect anyone here to take me seriously as I am "blinded in love", but it is also true that I know Sushant and Ankita more than most here. Obviously, they are not my next door neighbours but one tends to learn the general traits of the person when one has followed them as long as some of their fans have. Also, considering Sushant and Ankita are from TV background, they were far more accessible than the movie stars. I do not know what this article is referring to, but Ankita is not a sort of woman to take things lying down. The article refers to a spat, the mobile texts or whatever it was can be left for the reader's imagination. Ankita seems as happy as she ever was...she was laughing off with her friends on sets recently and is doing great for herself in terms of career. Sushant too has Paani and DBB to look forward to.

Bollywood is going the Hollywood way...everything is being corporatized (is that a word?) and mechanical now...

It makes sense to sign a newbie for a 3 film deal at a low price, before he or she gives a huge hit and becomes unavailable! And these deals are pro-production house and not in favor of the actors...
Even if YRF has signed a 3 film deal with, say SSR and later decides not to make a film with him...do you really think he can do anything about it? But if he backs out of a film with them, his ass would be hauled over the coals!
The Production House has nothing to lose that way!
In a way, its great...that way the so-called 'Star System' will eventually fade out!
@Shreya...I honesty don't know what is the funda behind YRF's marketing and promotion strategy? They promote an off-beat film like SDR to the hilt...but don't bother to do anything about a more mainstream film like Aurangzeb?😕
And though I like SSR, even I am befuddled by the amount of interest shown in him by top-notch film-makers! He is good...but is he that good?

I think SDR was promoted as much as it was because YRF felt strongly about the content. Aditya Chopra even trow a small success bash for the film...apparently its his first.😕😆 The vibe they gave out...it was that they were very confident about the film. Or maybe because it was the very antithesis of any previous YRF film or rom-coms, they felt that they should try harder to promote it. I dunno. It would be good for them though if they do learn to promote their films more.

Shreya, its in terms of scale that they have given SRK their best films. They have a typical attitude, though Karan Johar has it more...that they must make a larger than life film with SRK because he's such a big star...that he should work mainly with the top directors of a PH rather than the other ones.

I agree with Himani!
Many a times, when you are in the process of making a film, you are still not sure how it will end up looking...and sometimes the end product is much better than anticipated or worse than imagined...that is where marketing comes in!
If a film seems hopeless, then a PH decided not to waste anymore money on it by promoting it...but if a film seems good, they decide to go all out and turn it into a sureshot hit!
SDR was a very, very confusing film...I wouldn't say bad, because it had its moments and personally speaking, I loved all the three performances! But it was a very shallow and superficially thought out script...I am amazed it worked so well at the BO!
Might have to do with all the sex scenes etc...gives me hope for Ram Leela😉😆

Forget PH's, stars make it obvious if their film is worth it or not. Just watch their interviews...their excitement or boredom shines through.

Ranbir had no hopes from Besharam, it was obvious from the beginning. Then he admitted it outrightly. Akshay simply stops promoting also. Salman anyways doesn't believe in promotions. Aamir wasn't happy with Talaash and it was obvious from months before the film's promotions started, but he obviously didn't let go of the film.

All my bias aside, unless SRK is bouncing off the walls in excitement, he is not obvious about what he thinks...like he will happily promote through and through for every film. You gotta read between the lines.

Oh! Yes...actors know what they have got themselves into!😆 And their liability being less than the producers, they don't bother to show too much enthusiasm for a bad product!
Akki, I can imagine doing a film like Joker and Boss...he has never had a head for good scripts...I think he just does films randomly, taking a risk on a film like Special 26 and balancing it out with a Rowdy Rathore...but someone like Ranbir doing a Besharam confounds me completely!
SRK and Salman (and to some extent Aamir) are a brand in themselves...they are usually bigger than the film they do. SRK promotes extensively because more often than not, he gets the distributor's share of profit...so he is not just an actor in his film, who will get his paycheck before the film starts, he also gets to profit from the success of the film...which explains his maniac interest in promoting his films!
Aamir is just plain bonkers...a control freak who needs to interfere in every aspect of the film he does!😆
