Kangana Ranaut is all set to make a big splash with her action-packed role in Hrithik Roshan's Krrish 3. Her look in the film has already attracted a lot of attention, and Kangana feels Krrish 3 will truly be a special experience for the audience. Having declined the part when it was first offered to her, Kangana says she was destined to do Krrish 3. Indiatimes.com met Kangana Ranaut to find out more about her mutant avatar in Krrish 3.

Kangana, what was your first reaction when you were told that you have to play a 'mutant' in the film?

I always had this somewhere at the back of my mind, that I must do a superhero movie someday. Something like Lara Croft has been on my wish list, so I really liked the thought of being a supergirl. Also while there are negative shades to my character, it also has an emotional layer to it.

The big challenge was the physical aspect, as this kind of a role demands a high level of fitness. Luckily I have been quite athletic right from childhood, so I could achieve the desired results in a relatively short span of time.

There were issues during Kites over the length and presentation of your role. Did you discuss this with Rakesh Roshan before singing Krrish 3, as this time you have got a lot of prominence on the posters and promos?

Whatever issues I had during Kites were with Anurag Basu and I discussed what I had to with him. Rakesh Ji had no role in what happened during Kites. In Krrish 3 he approached me with his final script and told me in exact detail what I would be doing in the film. In fact it feels very nice when he tells me I was always his first choice for the role.

Unfortunately I could not say yes the first time around, due to date issues. But filmmaking is like marriage, if you are destined to do a role, it will happen and eventually come back to you.

Koi Mil Gaya happened before your debut, while Krrish came in the year your first film released. Do you have memories of the first two films?

Everybody loves those two films. I think the Roshans are truly the pioneers of the sci-fi genre in Bollywood, and they continue to take it further in scale and vision with every film. Not many fillmakers have been able to execute this genre even after so many years.

Did you have to play catch-up while preparing for your role, as you were new to the trilogy?

The story is a continuation but my character is completely new. So I did not have to use any references from the first two films.

You dance, as well as fight with Krrish in this movie. So is Hrithik Roshan tougher to beat on the dance floor or in the action sequences?

Hrithik is a complete superhero in real life too and the best at everything he does. So in both departments there is no question of beating him.
