Hrithik Roshan and Rakesh Roshan
Hrithik Roshan and Rakesh Roshan in a friendly interview at the Ritz Carlton in Singapore tells us why they feel that the Krrish brand has worked with the masses, why both father-son have found a great connect with each other while making films and how Hrithik feels that when you someone gives his best he is also able to extract best from others.
To Rakesh Roshan: Why do you feel that o Krrish as a brand has worked?
We don't have any comic books here. To establish a comic hero, we made a film like Koi Mil Gaya. After Hrithik comes to Singapore in the film, he is established as a superhero. The whole establishment of Krrishas a brand was a big process. People believed in the brand when Hrithik wore the mask and did good things for the betterment of people. The whole process of telling Rohit and Krishna's story took time to establish Krrish as a brand. In Krrish 3, I am taking time to establish the villain also in a different way. People should understand what he is and how he is like that.
To Hrithik Roshan: Rakeshji mentioned yesterday in a press conference that it is Hrithik's honesty that makes him cast his son in his films. In addition to honesty, what is it that every time you work together the product is highly saleable and you two make a great team?
In order to get, you have to give first. My father gives his best and so he is able to extract good from us. If all directors give their best, then actors will also perform well. He is not someone who will compromise for anything. He had always told me he would never take me in his films because I am his son. In order to be able to act in his films, he instilled courage in me and helped me walk and jump out without a safety net.
To Hrithik Roshan: Why have you not attempted to work in a romantic film directed by your father after Kaho Na Pyaar Hai?
Koi Mil Gaya had one of the sweetest love stories. We would love to do another romantic film.
To Hrithik Roshan: Any particular scene that you enjoyed shooting in the film Krrish 3, where you felt it was a great challenge?
My father is never going to put a camera or frame in a film just for me. The end product is important and the entire goal is important. It's not about one person. But I think the father-son scene in the film where Krrish becomes helpless and the father again motivates him to give his best was a complicated one and I felt it would be very difficult to enact it. But my father shot it so brilliantly and the entire shot finished so smoothly that I was highly impressed with the whole way he managed that. It was a very emotional scene and I think it is the best scene for me in the film
