Agree that Sonam is in a league of her own. Not that she is better than all her contemporaries, but, she should be applauded for taking up different roles in every film of hers. She doesn't do the ususal run-of-the-mill kind of roles and therefore cannot be counted in the race like others. Sure she has a long way to go before claiming to be a flawless actress but she is not bad at all.

Keeping her persona and body of work in mind, Khoobsurat seems yet another of the 'hatke' roles she will be doing and I am looking forward to it.

Hmmm...Please Rekha comparing to sonam there is no question! but let's give her a chance may be she will do it in her own way!!! We shouldn't judge before watching it!

In Raanjhanaa, sonam didnot play any flowerpot role, she was d main lead wid Dhanush.. Infact Dhanush himself said that playing zoya was d toughest thing for an actor, and sonam did the role wid conviction.. the role wasnt an everyday role nd far from being typical of hindi film actresses do.. so kudos to her tyo accept the role and then make d film a superhit also.

Khubsoorat, yes its a remake, but obviously she has made it clear that she wont be copying Rekha anyhow.. Agneepath was a remake too, but we saw Hrithik was unbeatable and no he dint even try to touch the work AB did in his version.

Sonam doenst need to prove anything like that she is equal to deepika, or a better actress than deepika, all just she needs to do is select good and mature roles, which i think she has started doing.

nd yes, event after 8 months of the year, any newspaper and any online surveys still say it that Raanjhanaa was d most deserving success of this year till now, so its not only Dhanush's or the director's, also sonam's achievement too.. Both Dhanush-Sonam were gutsy enuff to accept the roles and play them so beautifully.

Sonam might not play flowerpot roles but her roles anyway don't interest me as her acting is up to the mark !
On top of that her voice modulation! -_-

You know what, everyone doubted Sonam in Ranjhaana too but she was pretty awesome in it. So you never know. I mean with the right director and actors, she might be awesome.

Didn't people compare SRK to Big B with the Don remakes?! And SRK did a good job.

Now, I'm not comparing Sonam and SRK ( lord knows I'm not), but my point is that anyone is capable of anything. So the finish product will tell us how she did.
