OUATIMD First Weekened Box Office Collection.

Once Upon Ay Time in Mumbai Dobaara has collected around 10.5 crore nett on Sunday at the box office as per estimates. Thus, OUATIMD Opening Weekend collection is around 40.85 crore nett mark. Film registered limited growth on Sunday from Saturday.

Film has struggled to sustain in the first weekend itself. Its collections for all days are in the same range despite big screen increase from Friday. Film had a rocking Thursday where it received around 90%+ occupancy all over India. After that film struggled on and registered an occupancy of around 40-45% for the rest of the days.

Film weekend collections look decent, but when one sees the film big budget and star cast collections should have been better. A 50 crore nett weekend would have been nice. Also, it will be tough from now on for OUATIMD to touch 100 crore nett in its lifetime. If weekdays struggle more than figure will come even more below than the expected level.

Collection Breakup -

Thursday (Limited Screens) - 11.1 crore nett.

Friday - 10.25 crore nett.
Saturday - 9 crore nett.
Sunday - 10.5 crore nett (Estimates).

Total - 40.85 crore nett.

Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobaara Has Dull Weekend

Once Upon A Time In Mumbai 2 had a dull weekend as it grossed around 36 crore nett and that over four days. A 36 crore nett figure over three days would have been respectable but averaging 9 crore nett a day over a four day weekend is disappointing.

The film has fared very poorly in places like South India and West Bengal and these are the places where Chennai Express has broken all records.

The problem for Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobaara was that its first day remained the best day despite the release being much smaller on day one. Basically the film collected well on the holiday (in terms of how much the release let it collect) but it was totally downhill after that and even Sunday not giving the film much of a lift.

OUATIMD's performance at the box office improved as the film claimed a greater number of screens over the weekend. It raked up a total collections of 41 crores approximately in its first weekend alone.

The Milan Luthria film has been facing lows from the start, given the tough competition from Chennai Expressas well as less overwhelming response from the critics. However, the audiences are still giving it a thumbs up especially because of Akshay Kumar, whose fans are mesmerized by his don stint. Though the feedback is unanimous that the film isn't as great as its prequel, it will nevertheless hold strong given the star value and the prowess of the franchise!
