SRK's Chennai Express to have the biggest overseas release

Makers of Chennai Express are all set to showcase the film in 700 screens outside the subcontinent, making it one of the biggest overseas releases till date

Monday, 5th August 1:30 PM IST

King Khan indeed has a great fan following, be it in India or overseas. And with 'Chennai Express' releasing this week, the excitement has grown manifold.

Aware of the popularity of Shah Rukh Khan's popularity, producers of Chennai Express are all set to show the film in 700 screens outside the subcontinent. This will make it one of the biggest overseas releases till date. 'Chennai Express' will exceed SRK's 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan', which released in approximately 600 screens.

According to a source close to UTV, "This is the busiest week for international releases with Eid and mid-term holidays coinciding. The production house has managed to get a large number of screens for the film to ensure a wider reach. The film will be releasing in over 50 countries including international markets like Peru, Morocco, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, France and Israel."

A trade source commented, "There are some territories like Germany where Indian movies never worked. However, SRK's popularity in overseas market has encouraged the production house to foray into uncharted territories."

So SRK fans have a reason to rejoice and 'get set po' to watch the movie!
