The press should boycott Ran/Kat

I feel that the Indian press and the media in general should totally boycott Ranbir and Katrina, at least for some time in protest of the mind games these people have been playing.

If they hadn't spoken on each other and completely avoided such questions, then they could have been given the benefit of the doubt. Katrina has been advocating her "one is single until marriage" theory in vain, because this is neither acceptable in India nor even in the West. Moreover, she did confess her breaking up with Salman a while ago, so what was the need for that then? Ranbir and Katrina have categorically denied their link-up on several occasions. Ranbir, in fact went even a little over board in his denial of dating Katrina in a couple of his interviews. If they were really too private about their lives, being public figures they could have been extra cautious about their relationship. They want to enjoy parties together, spend holidays, walk to restaurants and bars...and still they have the guts to dodge the media.

I strongly feel that the media should teach a lesson to these celebs who exploit as and when required but have no accountability towards media or even the common public for that matter.

why just them..a lot of celebs play the mind games with the media. (Shahid and Priyanka's affair anyone?)

And it's not like media people are innocent to begin with. They torture the stars just as well as the stars torture them.

I have always liked bebo and how she wasn't afraid to tell the world and her fans about her relationship wheather it was with Shahid or Saif. Yes the breakup with shahid brought her a lot of negativity but at least she was honest about who she was dating. In my opinion every celeb should be like Kareena in terms of who they are dating ect...it just shows respect of who ever your dating. Hiding it just makes it seem sleazy...esp when you are being spotted together everywhere...and the world can see that you are dating...what's the point of hiding it apart from gaining publicity from it?

Or be classy like Aish and Abhi...they never used their relationship to get publicity. No one knew they were dating. So the media didn't question them...the star couple didn't have to lie...there were no mind games. So they gained a lot of respect from fans and the media.

Stars do tit for tat. Media never leaves them so they also play with them

It's true it's not just about Ranbir and Katrina, but I feel that Shahid/Priyanka affair didn't last that long and also they didn't deny that as much as Ranbir and Katrina did. Katrina has particularly played her innocent card for way too long.

Also, the celebs choose this field well aware of what comes with it. They are not forced into Bollywood, rather they can kill to get the life that they have. Therefore, I have no or very little sympathy for them when it comes to the question of them "keeping their personal life private". By the way, they still have the option to quit Bollywood if they are too unhappy about media chasing them all the time.

Where these modern celebs have learnt almost everything from the West, they should also learn a little bit of honesty that the Hollywood celebs exhibit.

Accountability to the media and us over what exactly? They haven't committed any crime! Ranbir and Katrina are not contractually obliged to tell the world if they are dating or not. It's nobody's business, why do people care so much if they're telling is whether they're together or not in the first place. It's a little weird and pathetic that some people are getting annoyed that they're not accepting it to people. They're not hurting anyone so they can do what they please tbh. There are more important issues to get angry about then whether rankat decide to accept to they're together to the media. Hardly any star ever says whether they are with someone because Indian media do not have boundaries after that admittance. They make everything about the relationship and it can get SO instrusive and annoying.

I hate people who make circus of their affairs...if U are doing it then own it. But these two knows that once they are out they will have no mystery left and the press will treat them ,ike any other normal couple. Then where is the hype fleet for them.😆😆

I admire people especially girls who are open and bindaas about their affairs. They are not proving the public that they are sati sati savitri in real lives...they let the public judge their work and also are open Bout their personal lives without turning it into a circus like RanKat.

Kareena - strong girl who cannot insult her relationship by hiding.👏

Deepika - getting bashed about the number of boyfriends she had but still respect her relationships by acknowledging them in public.👏

Sushmita Sen - she loves to live life with her boyfriend outdoors instead of hiding with him under the sheets...👏

Alia Bhatt - loves to be seen in public with her male friends.👏

the fact that this comes from a deepika fan can not be taken seriously AT ALL.

She was open about her relationship with ranbir cause she wanted the kapoor tag.

but when she dated Siddarth Mallya and went to parties with him, went to events with him etc. then she ignored dating questions and never confirmed wether she was dating him or not.

same goes for her sleep buddy Ranveer. first leaking her pictures with Ranveer from her Dubai Holiday with him during Race 2 promotions in Masala Magazine and then going for dates with him etc. and when media asks about their relationship then she denies it and says they not dating.

so a deepika fan should be the last one attacking katrina for her comments on her relationship with ranbir.

kash4life summed it up pretty well.

but I would also like to add that they not the only ones, ritesh-genelia did not confirm their relationship before marriage. Abhishek and Aishwariya may not have used their relationship before marriage but after marriage they used it a lot and even went ahead and dragged their child for publicity stunts.

Priyanka Chopra went ahead and copied Katrina's statements about personal life: "I am single till I am married", "I do not want to talk about my personal life" etc. etc.

only girl who has been open about who she is dating is kareena.

but the thing is not everyone is comfortable with it. And it's okay.

It's no crime, and the truth is the media needs a katrina and ranbir to sell their magazines. They are on at least 1 front cover every week, be it toi or dna, mid day etc. their news sell. So it's not like all this is PR, media are very much after them so forget boycott cause they obsessed with them.

The thing is that even when people date for a while, there is no certainity that they will end up being together forever .. and when the break up does happens, the media doesn't takes it as it is .. they keep on playing it for years and years and years .. the star himself/herself might get over the past relationship but the media doesn't lets that go away from public memory (for obvious masala sake) ... for example- Amitabh-Rekha, Ash-VO, Ranbir-DP etc. -- the relationships have been over for so long but the whole media saga is like never ending .. that is why some people like to keep it to themselves ..
But yes, if they want to keep it to themselves then they should do so .. and not be like Ranbir-Kat that they decide to leak out some pics as and when it suits them .. either they should keep it totally hidden or have the guts to come out in public .. either way it's gonna be respectful to their fans ..
but when people like Ranbir-Kat play games like this then I guess we should let them be and not bother .. how many topics have we had on IF regarding these two? It's the same discussion on and on everyday with just different topic names .. that's what they want .. we should just ignore and let them fall into the ditch that they are digging ..
