Ayushmann Khurrana's much awaited single to be out this year

Will he? Won't he? After months of speculation on whether Ayushmann Khurrana will record an album or single, other than singing for his films' songs, here comes the news! He has already recorded his first single (scratch version) called O Mutiyaare (meaning a young Punjabi girl). The song is in Punjabi and will have some Hindi lyrics too. The lyrics have been written by Ayushmann and his friend Ruchit Kohli and will be released by YRF Music.
He confirms the news. "I have just finished recording my first single. It's a scratch version — just a basic structure. It's a romantic, Punjabi song but this time we have added a lot of Hindi lyrics too."
He's signed a few films so why this sudden decision to cut a single now? "Everybody has been asking me for quite some time now as to when I will cut my first single apart from film songs. I felt that now was the right time. All my films are releasing next year so this year I will have some time to devote to my single. Ruchit and I also plan to shoot a cool video after the song is recorded. We have written all the songs I have sung till now, ourselves. We had composed Paani Da Rang and Saadi Galli during our college days. O Mutiyaare is a fresh composition. We want to shoot the video like John Mayer. The music is very western — a soft-rock Punjabi type that has not been explored as a genre in Punjabi rock music till now."
Has his wife heard the rough scratch? "Yes she has and she loved it!"
