If newcomer Girish Kumar isn't seen riding cool bikes, wearing designer outfits, romancing in global exotic locales or mouthing larger than life dialogues, it is all with a reason. That's because whenRAMAIYA VASTAVAIYA was conceptualised, it was unanimously agreed that Girish would be pitched as the leading man amongst the 'aam aadmi' instead of projected as an out of the world unassailable Demi God.
"That's because the film demands him to play a regular boy next door who is rich but not spoilt. He has all the luxuries of the world but doesn't look down upon the under-privileged. He is fun to hang around with but doesn't pretend to be ultra-cool. He falls in love with a girl and proposes before her as well but without turning overtly filmy. The idea was to make him act, react and behave in a manner that manages to form an instant connect with the audience. Young boys have to believe that they too can win heart of their lady love while girls have to feel that true love existing amidst fake proposals," informs a source.
This is the reason why Girish isn't presented as a cool dude. Director Prabhudheva had certain thought behind Girish's presentation as a debutant and producer Kumar Taurani was in synch as well.

"This is the reason why despite all the imported cars and sports bikes at his disposal, the character played by Girish doesn't rely upon them to make his presence felt. Ironically, in the film it is his father who drives a red convertible Bentley while his mother rides on a sports bike," quips a source, "On the other hand Girish gets to ride a 'Doodhwale ki Cycle' and a Bullock cart. Not just that as he even milks a cow and does a bit of farming as well."
"Well, all for a good reason," winks Girish, "If all of this makes me a hero for the film then be it. It is the character that counts eventually. Tomorrow if I have to wear an all the more stylish persona, there would be time and platform for that too. However when it comes to RAMAIYA VASTAVAIYA, I am extremely happy and content with the way I connect with the audience."
We would look forward to that as well once the film releases all over this Friday.
