Yes, she could have. I think she was even considered for the movie.

I think that the reason they did not take her is because this movie has got a bit of Zindagi na milagi doobara in which Katrina acted and they did not want it to be compared to ZNMD.

I have not seen the movie, but in 1-2 scenes from the trailor, Deepika's dialogue delivery is better than Ranbir's and her hard work shows.

Deepika knew that there would be comparisons between her Ranbir-Katrina pairing and her pairing with Ranbir. Also, she knew that if she wanted to take her career graph any further in bollywood, she had to make sure that her pairing with Ranbir worked.

But Ranbir/Kat as a pairing has worked so far; so who knows maybe the movie would have been successful with Kat-Ranbir as well.

Either way, the Ayan/Karan combination in this movie, more or less guaranteed the success of the movie.

i am really thankful that kats rejected the film...and spare us her torture...she would have killed the entire movie and chemistry...

this film was all Ranbir-Deepika chemistry along with the friendship of foursome awesome...Kats would have lack in all aspect and she could never match the acting standards of ranbir...

another most touching part is...Ranbir-Deepika did not act the scenes out...but live it entirely...it was natural and real...infact i will say no acting...it was themselves on-screen...and if kats done the movie...it would have been fake chemistry...i never like RanKat chemistry in APKGK...she only looks good with Akki and Hrithik...but i do want to see her how she looks with aamir...😆..and can she match his acting standards...😆

Katrina looks good with only akshay and perhaps hrithik too ! Ranbir-katrina are one of the most overrated pairs ever,she looks like his elder sister 😆 Ranbir-deepika are far better

I like Ranbir-Katrina. 😡

But I have friends who called them bhai-behen, and apparently they look alike sometimes. So you're not the only one who thinks that way. 😕😆

I know Katrina has worked with the young lot - Ranbir, Neil, Imran. But I feel she's still aged herself on screen by working with the Khans, Akshay and Hrithik. I am finding it hard to imagine her in YJHD oddly. 😕

well kats had JTHJ to prove her acting skills...as it was her biggest break for her career in terms of acting...yashji always gives powerful roles to his female leading ladies...whether its sridevi...madhuri...juhi...kajol etc...the female are well-taken care of then the males...but this women failed...and killed the film for me completely...anushka was better than her...
