EDIT: Since a lot of people including me had confusion regarding what was the award given to SRK for...here is what Wiki says...

The Chevalier Sivaji Ganesan Award for Excellence in Indian Cinema is given by STAR Vijay as part of its annual Vijay Awards ceremony for Excellence in Indian Cinema.

So its given for excellence in INDIAN cinema...not just regional cinema...An award well deserved then👍🏼
