On Friday night, Soha Ali's swank new pad at Khar turned into a battlefield when two women let their tempers get the better of themselves. It was a party hosted for Kunal Khemu, who turned 30 with a successful film ( Go Goa Gone) to his credit. But the attention shifted from the birthday boy to the catfight between Arpita Khan and a certain Lisa Bocarro, who was there with Yuvraj Singh. Lisa's claim to fame so far as been a special appearance in Sohail Khan's film 'Fight Club' (2005).
The guestlist included Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Virat Kohli, Zaheer Khan, Dia Mirza, Aditi Rao Hydari, Abhay Deol, Kunal Roy Kapur, Arshad Warsi, among others. According to an eye-witness, Arpita was chatting with a friend at the party when a social acquaintance called Mariam tapped her on the shoulder to say hello. Lisa, who was next to Mariam, apparently pointed a finger at Arpita and used the 'f' word. "A shocked Arpita could barely respond when Lisa let loose a volley of abuses at her and pushed her," he said. Those in the know say the outburst was not unprovoked - Lisa allegedly has been instrumental in driving a wedge between Yuvi and Arpita, who were friends till last year.
Meanwhile, Arpita retaliated and what followed was a heated exchange of words. Realising the situation was getting out of hand, the hosts tried to calm the women but failed. "Arpita demanded to know how Lisa managed to get invited to the party and that she should be thrown out of the place. She then called up her brother Sohail," the eye witness said. And the big brother was there in the next fifteen minutes. With neither of the ladies willing to give up, Lisa was eventually asked to leave the party and Yuvraj too left with her.
But isn't Yuvraj supposed to be close to Salman's family? The eyewitness said: "That is a thing of the past. There were a few misunderstandings last year." When contacted, Lisa said, "I am a very ladylike person. Foul language does not exist in my dictionary. There was a misunderstanding yes, but that was between Arpita and someone else. When I saw so much commotion happening around me, I decided to leave the party. And yeah, Yuvi also left with me."
Arpita said, "The incident was very uncalled for. I wouldn't like to be associated with such people." A friend of Yuvi called up to say: "The provocation came from Arpita's side. Yuvi even tried to play the peacemaker."
