There's so many movies I thought did good till recently I discovered they were either disasters or just average.. Never knew about numbers before.. I saw the movies and If I liked them I thought they must've done good..😆 Here's my list Bolded ones are like my favs.. add more

Andaaz Apna Apna - Flop (Audiences lost their mind I guess 😆)
Chal mere bhai - Flop (didn't deserve to be.. such a good movie with good songs)
Agneepath - Flop (deserved to be)
Yaarana - Flop (Mere Piya ghar aaya was in it I thought it would have done wonders)
Akele Hum Akele tum - Flop (loved this movie as a child and wanted to bump of Manisha)
Khamoshi - Flop (It was a beautiful film.. viewers sometimes 🤪)
Masoom - Flop (Adorable, adorable movie)
Mr and Mrs Khiladi - Below Average (its was a hilarious movie 😆)
Daud - Flop (I loved it.. Sanju and Urmila made it entertaining.. Daya Shankar and Uma Parvati 😆)
Major Saab - Average (I really liked it.. Kehta hai pal pal tumse and Sonali - Ajay <3)
Hello Brother - Flop (It was a stupid movie but I liked it)
Hogi Pyaar ki Jeet - Average (I loveddd it.. taalon mein naini taal and dil deewana kehta hai loved it)
Hera Pheri - Average (How can a movie like that be average.. it deserved to be a blockbuster)
Phir Bhi Dil hai Hindustani - Flop (I loved it.. no matter what so I believed it had a right to be a hit 😆)
Ajnabee - Average (It was a very good movie)
Chori Chori Chupke Chupke - Average (Why oh Why.. such a good movie)
Dil Chahta hai - Average (HOWWW??? 😲)
Lajja - Below Average (I still watch it whenever it comes on tv)
Nayak - Below Average (what a great movie)
Pyaar tune kya kiya - Flop (Why? I liked Fardeen.. don't judge I was only 9)
Khushi - Flop (I loved it.. Fardeen factor again I guess 😆)

Some films have this perceptions of being blockbusters or super-hits when in reality they're just average grossers. A lot of it is just PR and media created hype. The Bachchans are particularly good at this, making a lot of noise for a small success.

The movies I listed are like from my childhood when I didn't know nothing about box office.. for instance Major Saab I watched it with my uncle and we both loved it.. we were both young.. 😆 and from that day I assumed it would have been a hit..

The old Karz starring Rishi Kapoor. I recently found out it was a flop.

Then I had thought initially last year that EMAET did great business.

No it was average at best. No one associated with a film which is supposedly successful even talks about it. Neither did anyone win awards or even get nominated for awards for this film. Whereas when we talk of the truly successful films from last year people still talk about them.

hain ??? old masoom , naseer-shabana one was Flop ????? really ?????????

abt Herapheri- i heard promos were misleading ... ppl thought its an action movie 😆

Chori chori Chupke Chupke - shukar karo release ho gayi 😆 ... just before the few days of its release producer was arrested bcz movie was funded by underworld ...so when it was released promos etc became stale

it was last year during new agnipath's release i found out old one was flop ...i was shocked

Diljale - i love that movie and songs and it was flop or average ( was not clean hit i think )
