As for his acting, baring exceptions, he either overacts or underacts. He does not (yet) have the natural ability to show change in emotion/mannerism without going overboard which makes it look like he's doing some circus as opposed to actually inhabiting a character. He's generally bland/wooden faced (even in interviews and the likes, his facial muscles do not move much), which makes it difficult for him to emote well onscreen, for which he overdoes his emotions, making himself look like a caricature onstage. Considering he's been acting for over a decade, there is no excuse for him. In fact, I'd say even SRK is at least good at playing the typical candyfloss loverboy roles, unlike Hrithik who can't quite play any role well. In more than a decade working on cinema with all the critics and puppets on his side, a father who'd literally sell his soul for him, he could not improve an iota in acting. Just abysmal. If anything, his acting has deteriorated.
His looks...I am probably one of those who, despite agreeing he's got good features, don't find him attractive at all. There's something very off-putting about his looks. I can't quite figure it out. There are people who don't look good because they don't have good features, but he's one of those who actually looks mediocre despite good features. And yeah, veins popping out of his forehead, hands looking like rod, etc does no favor.
