All in a day's work: Sonu Niigaam |
In spite of being down with food poisoning, a visibly ill Sonu Niigaam shot for a music video during the weekend.
What would have prompted many a singers to call off the proceedings and retire for the day, Niigaam remained unfazed and resorted to medicines as he faced the camera in a suburban studio. The song Yeh rashtra prem ki bhavana and music video are close to his heart.
Says an eyewitness, "Sonu was terribly ill. During the breaks, he would take rounds of the loo as he kept throwing up. However, he remained patient, donned the makeup and recorded the video. He needs a pat on the back."
Sonu's livid
Those in the know reveal that with the widespread speculation of another terrorist attack in the city, Sonu Niigaam is a livid soul. The optimistic singer feels that communal harmony is the need of the hour.
The exercise started off with the singer penning down the lyrics followed by a few hours in the recording studio. The song instills the value of national pride and will be released during the upcoming Independence week.
Condition's stable
During the shoot, the singer's family doctor had to be called as he was on the verge of collapsing. His condition became stable after he was treated with antibiotic shots. A crewmember further adds, "He was so ill. We even felt that he needs to be hospitalised. But thankfully, things didn't become worse. We shot the entire video."
Despite efforts to reach Sonu, he was unavailable for comment.
