One of my favorite films of all time. A balanced look at Bollywood and the life of strugglers who come to Mumbai with those big dreams.

The scene where Farhan walks into that audition where there's hundreds of other guys that look exactly like him, is brilliantly shot and really sums up the film for me really. How luck is the most important factor in becoming a celebrity.

Zoya is a genius! Her films never disappoint.

Nikita🤗

This movie is one of my favorites. I can watch this anytime and still marvel at the nuances and details. One of my biggest reasons for liking this movie is in the practical and pragmatic approach Zoya Akhtar took in narrating this story. Vikram wasnt a conventional 'hero' yet portray all the characteristics of one.

However it wasnt Vikram was stole the show and was the winner, it was Konkona Sen's character. So many people come to Bombay with aspirations and dreams but end up having to settle for a TV role, Entertainment host or make the most out of given opportunities. How her character comes to terms with her boyfriend's cheating and finds a common ground to fulfill her dreams of being an actress without letting go of her ideals, was truly the highlight of the movie, atleast for me.

Stories of Vikram are one in a million a la Ranveer Singh or SRK. But its the story of Konkona Sen's character that truly set apart the movie and made it so beautiful. However, Vikram's journey and the characters he meets along the way-show how BW truly works ; a model of mutual benefit.

Hey Tiya! 🤗 Long time since we last spoke. Hope all is well. Agree with you about Konkana Sen's role- it was very well written indeed.
