This is one pie everyone wants a piece of. We're talking of Shekhar Kapur's much-hyped, long-on-the-anvil project, Paani. The film received a fresh lease of life when YRF decided to back it, and Hrithik Roshan was apparently roped in to play the lead. But uncertainty clouds certain aspects of the project once again.

From Duggu, the focus shifted to Ranbir Kapoor for the protagonist's part, and the latest, we hear, is that Sushant Singh Rajput and Ranveer Singh are the names currently in contention.
Sources tell us that Aditya Chopra has personally shortlisted Sushant and Ranveer's names for the project. "Adi is keen that Sushant play the role, especially since Ranveer is fairly busy with his other assignments. He also feels that taking Sushant on board will add a certain freshness to the project," our khabru revealed.
The film is already in the pre-production stages. "YRF are star-makers," our source points out. "Ranveer is a great actor and a star, but they're now placing their bets on Sushant as they're confident he'll live up to the role."

this one sounds exciting. i think they should wait for ranveers ram leela. if its a hit, he will suddenly become the item, if it bombs he is finished.

Prefer either of them to pretty boy Ranbir or Imran. HR IMO had gotten too old for the role. I wish though Adi took Sid.

between those two i really hope its sushant but its a risky project i hope sushant does it well 👍🏼
he was great in kai po che if its a similar type of role he will surely ace this film

Now that other sites are supporting the story, looks like the BOI article wasn't mere speculation.
