Kiran - true true. While I am able to speak fluent punjabi, i can't read or write it. 🤔 We use to take punjabi lessons at the Gurdwara but didn't last long. 😆

I speak very fluent urdu, learned it from all my pakistani friends. 😳 Didn't reallly get along with Punjabis. 😆 IF is the first place where i came across people from Mumbai and other parts of India.. only knew a couple of Gujju's and Delhities.

Dad – Konkani

Mom – Gujarati

So technically "mother" tongue is Gujarati, but my "first language" or "spoken" language is Konkani.

I can also speak Hindi and Marathi. And random words in many languages.

I grew up between Dutchies(Dutch people), but you know "kar vich" it was always Punjabi! And then my Aunty and cousins are Pakistani (not blood related though), and there too Aunty spoke in Punjabi with us while the cousins in Urdu.. and well that's the reason I can speak Urdu a bit better than Hindi. My Hindi accent sucks 😳

btw. Pakistanis are Punjabi too, so I am sure you meant you couldn't get along with Indian Punjabis 😆
