a) Equal Pay - Second wave of feminism
b) Derogatory terms such as "bitch", "wh**e", "s**t" need to be removed
c) Gender Violence, Sexual Harassment or Abuse if shown should have severe consequences

But, really if SRK is doing something he should be praised not criticized. A film like Kahaani would have not really worked if it had SRK in it. A film like Dabangg won't work if it has Vidya so the flower-pot theory is quite pointless. If an actresses is willingly doing those kind of roles then its their wish, if we stop them aren't we limiting their rights.

@ Bold Ppl are praising him. But the point is it's not gonna change women's status in BW industry.
If an actress is doing flower pot roles, she's is in no position to ask for an equal amount of money and respect . If any actress demands that, she is dumb. I could understand Vidya getting paid more for TDP, Kahanni...or Kareena for Heroine. But Sonakshi can't be paid more than or same as Salman for her flower pot role.

Nobody is forcing them to quit flower pot roles. But why demand same amount of money as the male star when you're putting less effort? That's illogical.

Edit: Typo

cause he took the step of changing the credits of one of his movies for women. This is just another way to help female actors. If he can he can if he can't he can't .

It is a challenge though and I have never known srk to back down from a challenge 😉😉😉

No one is saying that SRK needs to anything. He is the one who said he wants to help and apparently changing the order of credits is his (and Balki's) idea of helping the cause of female actors. Even if the sentiment is good, the method chosen is useless. Shabana simply meant that if he really wants to help, why not do some heroine-oriented movies? Coz that is more likely to make an actual contribution than the question of whose name comes earlier in the credits.

It would be cool if bigger male stars would do movies carried by the heroines. The other way around is quite common, where men carry the film and women do the supporting; so why not try to make the former more common? Not a bad idea.

The problem, of course, is that the media would eventually focus more on the big male actor and the heroine would likely have a hard time getting focus in the news. And this does not even touch the issue of the heroes earning ridiculously more than the heroines. But still, if SRK really wants to help, doing more such movies would be a better approach.

As a woman its been my experience that its women who put down women much before a man does. So if attitudes have to change its the attitude among women that needs to change. Like you see someone like Kajol making statements that women oriented films like TDP or Kahaani wont change anything. Not just her several other actresses who had the talent but never attempted a variety of roles for various reasons dont miss an opputunity to pull down the attempts made in BW today. Women need to stand up for themselves first and then the others before expecting men to do so.

I don't get what all this fuss is about. Fact: it was balki who asked Srk to have the actresses' name before his so Shabana should say something to Balki too but of course she wouldn't, targeting Srk is easier.

Secondly, Srk is one of the few actors who has done women centric films and YES, supporting roles DO count- if he was there in the whole film then it'd be stupid to think that the film wouldn't have deviated from what it was set out to be and be all about Srk, so him doing even supporting roles in such films can't be dismissed like that. He did a CDI if people are asking for a full fledged role, I know it wasn't an out and out feminist film but that topic was highlighted by the film too. Moreover, doing a woman centric film will only do as much good as this credit title thing IMO. The women will first have to help themselves by not agreeing for trashy roles and then we can talk about the khans starring in such movies.

I might be calling for trouble by mentioning this but aamir khan was named the biggest feminist in INDIA by a magazine. Really? In INDIA? I'm not so sure about it but afaik, he doesn't pay his heroines as much as or more than himself so I don't get what all fuss is about now when nothing was said then.
