The reason is in American shows they can have the female leads sleep with every character in the show spanning generations. So a lot of drama can be created around that. While in Indian shows the female lead is the most non-sexual creature. She might sleep with her lawfully wedded husband or boyfriend once in her lifetime.

i always wondered...

they literally show all couples getting all intimate MUCH b4 they even realise their love/attraction for each other, and when they do, its a huge surprise...its like they do everything...almost kiss, eyelocks, close dance, lift the girl in the arms, EVERYTHING..every possible form of flirting/creepy stalkering...and then when therz the big "confession" its always a surprise to one of them..."omigosh u love me...how is tht possible...i never knew..."...

yeh who would have thought......u just casually allowed him to tie ur dori / u just casually tied the dori of the girl u dunt even care tht much for...😆
