I have nothing against commercial cinema but sometimes, situations are just over-the-top ridiculously stupid! I watched the first Houseful and some other "comedies" and I think I've never went back to watching Indian comedies again. I really don't understand how people in India can watch these movies.

I do not know about India I live in USA and let me tell you I saw 7 movies in cinemas in 2012.

Houseful 2 . Everyone hated it in the theater thought it was retarded .

ETT . Most people thought it was good slick action film . My Whole community went to see this movie together first time ever for Salman movie . One guy said yeh hai Hamara James Bond . Lol

Barfi. Youngsters and 20 something's liked it . Older people (my dad ) couldn't follow W*F was goin on lol

EV . They loved it and loved Sridevi . Most people could relate to it

JTHJ some liked some hated it but we all went to see it. The consensus was though SRK has to give up Love Stories. Also people hated the length . Who still makes Bollywood movies 3 hours

Talaash . A lot of people liked it . some said it was slow others thought it was good . One guy left At interval lol . He thought it was over .

Dabangg 2 . Everybody loved it thought it was funny . But some did Say action was ott . Thought people liked its short length .

Lol no I'm a working man 😆

Haven't been a student in about 2 years .

Even if I was that is roughly 7 afternoons in 1 year so it's not a real big accomplishment

for me Rowdy Rathore was one of the worst movie of the year..The taste of India's mass audience really suck.

That means multiplexes also played a huge role in total collections. So you can't assume it's only mass's choice that sucks.

Masses might think your choice is shit

I think it's harder to argue that movies that do well critically, or get National Awards are "bad". It's kinda like an acquired taste, I suppose. Most people in India aren't that well off and when they watch a movie, they'd rather see escapism/fantasy than the harsher realities that are portrayed in other movies. And also, India runs on star power. Put Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, etc in a large-budgeted movie and throw in some masala and people will flock to see their favourites! It's not necessarily saying that those movies are always bad, but sometimes they are. But you're right, this is just an opinion and most people in India would disagree with me.

Dabangg is one of my fave masala films. Cant compare it to RR. I found RR totally stupid. But yes lots of people enjoyed it.

Yup Rowdy Rathore was loved by masses and classes! It was the universally most appreciated film in India 2012

Someone mentioned something about Ready's trending, and ya I just wanted to point out that Ready was the most loved film of 2011 in India by the public
