We've read about charity and activism done by Khans, Bachchans, Akshay Kumar, Dutt family, Mangeshkar family. But never heard of anything done by the Kapoor family and Deols (only heard of Hema's social work).

In terms of giving (not just charity but being giving in nature), I think Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt top the list (maybe Anil Kapoor also). These guys have gone out of their way to help out industry colleagues in crisis, done films for sake of helping out colleagues (even fight masters working on their films) and risked their own credibility just to help others.

Rohit Shetty had once recalled how Amitabh had brought their family out of financial crisis. Till date, Amitabh's the one who visits forgotten yesteryear artistes, helps them out and helps even kids of technicians who'd worked on his old films.

Obviously Salman! !!!

Plus he also helps out newcomers. Even srk has mentioned how he stayed in salmans house when he was struggling.

Shahrukh does alot of charity. He isn't selfish but people don't know about it cause he doesn't publicize it.

I am sorry but the topic is so lame.

How do you determine something as subjective as charity?

Some will look after abandoned pets and street dogs and cats and thats charity but will balk away when seeing beggers. Some will say human above all and go and help poor people but happily kick a stray dog.

Some will work for women empowerment and helping rural animal or village sanitation but will judge a victim of domestic violence or a divorcee.

Also if a celebrity , talks too much about charities they support, they r looking for publicity or drumming up a make believe cause, if one does not, it means one is selfish.

Let's just not judge and discuss this things?

I believe all celebs look out for themselves as well help others if and when they can.

There is no one who does most charity and who does no charity.

Most of them on their offscreen behaviour gives off a vibe that they do support and espouse certain causes and donate money and other help to that end.
