They have to pay Entertainment TAX on Revenue generated from their films, do u think they will exaggerate their figures just for more fame to their films??

In today's Mehngayi, Filmmaker will be happy to report Less 2 save paying tax.

Depends on whether they feel the difference is worth it (plus they have their ways of evading taxes). Ego makes you do stupid things.

I compared JTHJ with Ra.One coz if i would have compared with Don 2, you guys would have felt bad as Don 2 was having much less figures plus no major plus for SRK as compared to Ra.One.

Thing which is now u, singlularlygood or even BI complained ke i said about SRK being over is by this logic...

JTHJ Scoring less than Don 2 PLUS it went below Ra.One.

Ra.One = 114 cr = Max figures as thread is from BOI so will take that...

If JTHJ would have scored above DON 2, i won't have said that thing... But ALARMING Isliye ho gaya coz it shows back 2 back low figures for 3 times...

JTHJ = 102
Don 2 = 106
Ra.One = 114

Now whoever is seeing this tally will say that why SRK with new release showing less figures woh bhi itne margin pe???

JTHJ Scoring almost 12 cr less is nothing for you guys & You guyz here debating D2 scoring just a PROJECTED 4 cr less while in actual it made 10 cr + than 1st part.

END OF 100 CR CLUB

Making tall claims of their films earning R100 crore may become a thing of the past if government's new rule of putting an additional service tax of 12.36 per cent on a film's earning becomes a reality. The news has upset the industry to the extent that the Film and Television Producers Guild of India has decided to go on strike if the government enforces the tax on them. The tax is expected to be effective from this month.

"We are already paying entertainment tax, TDS (tax deducted at source) and income tax and now this additional tax is meant to exploit us further. Ab hume lagta hai…ye humare biwi bachchon par bhi tax laga denge. If this tax comes into force then it will end the film industry, as the movie making will become expensive which will lead to high-ticket prices followed by increase in piracy. Ultimately this will bring an end to the 100 crore era," says filmmaker Sunil Bohra.

Tanuj Garg, CEO of Balaji Films agrees with Bohra, "This (service tax) will only be counter-productive. It will force people to avoid disclosing real incomes. It will become difficult not just for small producers but also but also corporates. Projects will become unviable and people will stop investing in films."

Last month, Superstar Rajinikanth went on a token hunger strike along with other Tamil actors to urge the government to remove the service tax with immediate effect. He said that those who evaded taxes should be to be acted upon. corporates. Projects will become unviable and people will stop investing in films."

Filmmaker Mukesh Bhatt says that in the year that the industry is celebrating its 100th year, this is uncalled for: "This is the most antifilm industry government since independence. If the government doesn't listen, we will be compelled to go on a strike." Actor Akshay Kumar, too, recently hinted at a strike. "This strike will tell the government that whatever is happening is not right," he had said.

If 28 crores is pushing up the numbers A BIT ...then so be it...In my world 28 cr is a HUGE amount...ek choti film ka life time collection hota hai...but anyways what is a BIT to u ...is a LOT to me ...so I don't believe BOI...and we can argue on it till the cows come home...but nothings going to change...so lets drop it here..😛

I was referring to your "why did Ajay Devgan throw a 100 crore party then?" argument. He's the filmmaker here, not BOI.
