Akshay can be called that.

I meant in terms of most of his films now being South remakes (and South-inspired films) and getting success and fame from that...like Jeetendra did in the 80s. He is well known for movies like Himmatwala and his pairing with Sridevi and Jaya Prada in many films...and those were mostly 80s remakes.

Yayy! For another remake!

Honestly people, everything is a remake of something, Books are being made into Hollywood movies, Hollywood movies are added in some Indian flavour and made into South or Bollywood movies. And, then Bollywood movies are in turn remade into south movies. I am pretty sure the books itself are inspired from each other - there comes a vampire preiod, chick-lit period, fantasy period. Hollywood is now going through some superhero phase, Bollywood is also going through a superhero--as in Salman phase. I don't watch South Indian movies due to language barrier, but I am sure it must be going through some phase.

If you want originality watch parallel cinema. Oh wait, isn't Barfi kind of parallel cinema but totally inspired.

Salman just can't stop doing south remakes. But I don't blame him, he doesn't get offers from good directors and producers hence he and his brothers make movies together were they copy other movies.
