SECOND ONLY TO SALMAN
After Khan, Ajay Devgn is now the only actor with four back-to-back releases that have all made it to the R100 crore club
Salman Khan's last five releases — Wanted (2009), Dabangg (2010), Bodyguard (2011), Ready (2011) and Ek Tha Tiger — have all crossed the R100 cr mark at the box-office, making him the champion of the muchcoveted club. But steady competition is coming his way. Closing in on Salman is now Ajay Devgn.
Ajay's last four films — Golmaal 3 (2010), Singham (2011), Bol Bachchan and the recently-released Son Of Sardaar (SOS) — have all surpassed the R100 cr mark at the box-office as well. If trade and industry sources are to be believed, Ajay is fast becoming the most sought-after actor in Bollywood.
An informer says, "The film is also doing well in regions the makers didn't expect it to perform in. Late director Yash Chopra's Jab Tak Hai Jaan had released in 500 screens more than what SOS launched with initially. This is why it took the film some time to hit the mark, otherwise going by the current response, it would have happened much earlier. He is an unexpected entrant into the R100 cr club."
