Obviously you cant compare the impact of a Hindu festival in India with Europe and USA. USA for instance almost shuts down in the last 2 weeks of the year and during Thanksgiving time. In India we dont even get a holiday for Christmas or New Year. So yes there is a major impact of Diwali in India.Originally posted by: PuffinHypercity
Chill. India is clearly a country with hindu majority. but that DOESN'T mean that muslims and christians doesn't exist. Diwali indeed has an impact. But if you look overseas then it has not a impact because it has broken records at some places. So diwali is not as important festival time as it is India.I even read some of my indian friends from india saying that they have no time cause of pooja etc. but some people i know who live here in europe weren't busy with pooja etc. they went and watched the movie and went to work too.
