You have the wrong information about the contract. No one has forced distributors or exhibitors to do anything. Check this from their statement:

"Additionally, some exhibitors, who played EK THA TIGER, have chosen not to screen JAB TAK HAI JAAN."

Also why should distributors or exhibitors be scared of YRF? While they are releasing just three films this year, the two production houses of SOS in question, VIACOM 18 & EROS, who are distributing Son of Sardar, have a combined release strength of almost 27 films in a year. They obviously have an advantage over YRF. YRF how much ever they wanted couldnt have held the release of ETT forever. They have tried and failed before. Its the fault of SOS guys if they didnt plan in advance like YRF.

The most insecure are Salman fans. Now they feel scared. Finally a SRK movie which can surely succed at BO and who knows, even break some records.
Personally I don't care about BO. I just hope the movie is good.
