Which is fine, I guess they all sing in falsetto but Lata Mangeshkar is a whole league of her own (the more recent songs of hers). I mean listening to her in Veer-Zaara and Mujse Dosti Karoge was TORURE! The way her voice was quivering was painful to say the least. I dont care about how awesome she was in the 70s or the 80s; I dont listen to those songs and she aint from my generation so I shouldnt have to give two hoots about her.

Nope. Anushka Manchanda, Shilpa Rao, Shruti Hassan, Monica Dogra from Shaa'ir and Func 's voices don't bother me because their voices aren't shrill or squeaky.

^ I've never heard of any of those names hehe. I was talking about the regular singers of Bollywood who sing every other song in every other movie, not the ones that just sing one song every now and then. For example, that girl who sang "Tumi Ho Bondu" from Cocktail is friggin amazing but she isnt a regular like Sunidi or Shreya. Or that girl who sang Dhunki Dhunki from MBKD. She was friggin awesome too.

Just because its loud does not mean its besura! I just don't have conventional taste in music!

I like Rekha Bhardwaj and she is also Indian!

You said Indian female singers not regular female singers. 😆

Yep. That would be Neha Bhasin. Love her voice. Neha and Anuskha Manchanda were picked out by a talent show back in 2003 together. They were even in a pop group called Viva. Not sure what happened to that.

The vocals of both Kavita Seth (Iktara/Tumhi Ho Bandhu) and Shilpa Rao (Khuda Jaane) are flat - well, kinda! After a while, their voices go into falsetto.

Sundihi is, by far, one of the most power-packed singers of Bollywood today. Her one song - Aisa jadoo daala re - was mind boggling! Too good!

rock and heavy metal isn't music... it's just noise pollution.

Xeta and Xaffron - Yes! these are amazing singers but unfortunately they barely ever sing. Alka and Kavita sang like every song from every movie in the 90s and Shreya and Sunidi in this decade. It's getting a bit boring now.
