Crystal... let's not get into monotheism and polytheism. In Islam, Christianity, Judaism, amongst others, their followers believe in one God. As for Hinduism, they believe in many. They chose "Oh my God" because the story is about Krishna (Akshay's character) and he is a God to Hindu believers, so I don't see what's wrong with that? Plus it's a very catchy and appealing name.

God is a very generic term, and does not only apply to certain religions.

I respect the hindu believes but even if they showing the movie from a hindu view then they have NO right to call a movie "oh my GOD". in muslim, judaism and christian view we ONLY have ONE GOD and these religions understand god in same way, If this movie is seen from a hind view then it should have been called "oh my bagwan" that would be fine.

YOU seem to be ON a different PLANET altogether --- whats wrong with USING the word GOD ? As long as you know its a hindu GOD -- whats the problem ? its like making a mountain of a molehill --@

Do you have problem with movie GODZILLA ? or GODFATHER ? -- they used word GOD too -- @ And please, this has been happening for ages and HINDUs are definitely okay with it --- otherwise people would have banned TV shows like krishna/. ramayana t00 -- @

Hinduism also believes in one God...but that God has several forms...

And the many forms leads it to being polytheistic. That's what I meant, sorry for being unclear! 😳

exactly, Akshay isn't playing the Almighty who is the One for all the religions. he is playing Krishna, an avatar if I am not wrong. if he had played Almighty, then this movie wouldn't have seen the light of the day. so basically, in that regard its fine.

I am more worried about the maulvis they showed in the trailer :p

Well when you use "God" then it's used as monotheism and I would talk about it because that's how it is. Hinduism is polytheism and they should hence NOT call the movie "oh my god" because the other 3 religions have different view from hinduism and hence they should have called it: "oh my bagwan" or "oh meri bagwan".

Their intention is to irk other religions because according to this production house one can only talk about gods in hinduism. and let's not forget India is NOT only a hindu country, the country has also a big amount of muslims and there are also christians so it's really offending to make such a title.

I am kinda skeptic to watch the movie not because Krishna was personified (he's being personified for ages through images, art, drama), but because of the whole atheism vs. religion scenario; making non-believers believe in God.. eh. I don't like when force people religion on others. I find it offensive to atheists. If they choose not to believe, it's their choice. 😕

It's you who seem from a different planet that you are supporting the hate towards other religions.

If akshay is playing krishna then the movie should be called: "oh meri krishna" or "oh my krishna", but they used god to irk other religions and muslims and christians also in india but since censor board allowed this movie then it means muslims and christians in india aren't welcomed, disappointed👎🏼

Yes I had a problem because no one has the right to use the word "God" in any such way.

@HotMess (Aditi, right?) - Totally agree. Athiests should not be forced to believe in god if they don't want to. I don't understand why Atheism can't be given the same respect and status as theism.

But @Topic - It's a comedy film, not a statement on faith! A lot of such films have been made in the past. As long as they're not being disrespectful, it's all good.
