Guys, I found this video online. I found her very mediocre and ordinary. My co-worker sings better than she does.

What do you guys think?

She sounds very flat and boring lol

I liked her voice in Khwaabon Ke Parinde cuz her voice suited the theme

but other than that she's pretty effort-free lol

Isn't she the daughter of Loy Mendonsa? That's enough to bag some BW songs.

I like her voice anyway :)

I think her throat would not be fine when you listened her voice.

Honestly speaking, Most of the singers in Bollywood sing very Bad. For example- Himesh Reshamiya.

I still feel she's a non-singer. Vikraant, Bollywood has produced many of the best singers in the subcontinent, my dear. From Rafi saab, Manna Dey, Lata ji, Asha tai, etc to Udit Narayan, Kumar Sanu, Alka Yagnik and now Shreya Ghoshal, Sunidhi, and Vishal Dadlaani.

They are all quality singers. What are you talking, bhai! Himesh was never a singer to begin with.

There are some new singers that I'm unsure about...

Who thinks Shilpa Rao is an actual singer?

her voice is VERY melancholic and LIMITED... she instantly goes into the falsetto when its time to take a high note

I guess she's sung some good songs (Woh Ajnabee from the Train), but still...

mehh and don't get me started on Mika >.<

Brother i know it. However, other than these singers (you mentioned), some are low quality singers . Trust me. I don't even like to remember which songs they have sung.

Hey, how can you forget Abhijeet Bhattacharya? He is one of the best singers in Bollywood ; i like listening his all songs . Hence i recommend you to listen his album Lamhe. I am sure you will like all songs .

True!! Agree a cent percent!

When she says, "Jag mujhpe lagaaye pabandi, main hoon is nahin is duniya ki," her voice clearly goes into a falsetto mode. When I first heard her sing, I was like "why is she straining her vocals?"

She's a good singer, but her voice is not suitable for mainstream/contemporary Bollywood. She should stick to singing bhajans and aartis.

but wow now that you mentioned that, she DOES sound a lot like Shilpa Rao!

They sound so damn similar. Please don't tell me Suman Kalyanpur and Lata have reincarnated already.
